Week Nineteen

MONDAY 29/10/07:- Final week of the After Effects brief. This could possibly be the best work I've done here so far.

TUESDAY 30/10/07:- Spent the day tweaking the title sequence, and figuring out how to make the title reveal work. Hopefully I will be able to finish the project by tomorrow morning.

WEDNESDAY 31/10/07:- I think I've pretty much finished the title sequence. I've been looking at it over and over again, adding work, removing work and tweaking it. I'm pretty happy with what I've got. Animation can never be dull!

THURSDAY 01/11/07:- The start of a new month and the end of my After Effects Project. Spent the day fine tuning it, it's the best work I've done so far and it's the first time I've used After Effects. Slick!

FRIDAY 02/11/07:- Matt Leonard came in today and rewarded us for all our hard work on the After Effects project by giving us a mini brief. We had to create a 10 second sting using a image of a corporate logo, in four hours. Using a combination of After Effects and Maya we completed the project. It was a good exercise in using the skills we have learnt and putting them to the test within a time constraint.

Week Eighteen

MONDAY 22/10/07:- Caught a 'Man Cold' over the weekend! Work today has been slow going but I'm quite happy with the way the project is coming together. Sourced a soundtrack which I quite like, it will help with animating the final version of the title sequence.

TUESDAY 23/10/07:- The backbone of the project is finished, the remainder of the week will be spent bringing all the detailed work into the project. Hopefully by Friday I will have a fairly decent piece of work. Monday and Tuesday(next week)will be spent tweaking the title sequence.

WEDNESDAY 24/10/07:- Continuing to animate the title sequence, adding more detail to the work. Sourcing more images from the web and editing them in Photoshop.

THURSDAY 25/10/07:- Today has been spent tweaking the character animation and the timing of the title sequence. I've been referring back to the brief and storyboard in order to fit what is required in the 20 second sequence.

FRIDAY 26/10/07:- Matt Leonard and Rick Villeneuve were here to help with our briefs. Matt giving technical support while Rick helped by giving some constructive criticism on the work. Listening to what Rick had told me I've made some changes to the work and it's improved the title sequence.

Weeks Sixteen and Seventeen

MONDAY 08/10/07:- Spent the day messing around on the After Effects package, putting into practice what we had learnt from Matt Leonard's tutorials.

TUESDAY 09/10/07:- Received our industry briefs in the afternoon. I've been assigned the Dinamo brief. I must design and animate a 20 second title sequence for a fictional travel series, 'The World on a Camel' starring Michael Palin. the sequence needs to show Michael visiting identifiable world landmarks in a stylised photo cut-out environment.

WEDNESDAY 10/10/07:- Began my new project by breaking down the brief and highlighting the key components that are needed for the title sequence. Researched title sequences of previous Michael Palin travel series such as 'Pole to Pole' and other adventure travel series such as 'Long Way Round' and 'Around the World in 80 Treasures'. Made a storyboard and began sourcing for images.

THURSDAY 11/10/07:- Continued sourcing images from the web, and editing them in Photoshop.

FRIDAY 12/10/07:- Groundhog Day, continued to source images and edit them. Rick Villeneuve came in and helped with the planning of our work schedule.

MONDAY 15/10/07:- The day has been spent sourcing images and editing them.

TUESDAY 16/10/07:- Began work in After Effects. I did some tests figuring out how to animate my storyboard.

WEDNESDAY 17/10/07:- I created a walk cycle for a camel out of two photographs using the puppet effect tool. Pretty cool.

THURSDAY 18/10/07:- More of the same; sourced more images and continued to work on a animatic for my title sequence.

FRIDAY 19/10/07:-Continued work on the animatic. Rick Villeneuve and Matt Leonard came in to give us technical support on After Effects and our work schedule.
